OUR STORY

Jbay Surf House started in 2022, when local surf instructor Jimeal began teaching kids from the community how to surf. What began as a small grassroots movement quickly planted the seeds for something bigger.

At the end of 2024, Jbay Surf House got a fresh start. A new team with clear structure, long-term vision, and new leadership joined forces with Jimeal to expand the impact. Together, we’re building a permanent youth center where surfing meets purpose.

We are a young foundation with big dreams. Every bit of support helps whether it’s time, funding, or sharing our story. Curious about who we are? Meet the team here.

“When I was 12, I started to learn how to surf properly through a surf program. This guy showed me a lot about myself, and he brought the best out of me. The ocean brought out the best in me. Things that were going around in my environment, I wasn’t part of it anymore, because I was replacing it with surfing. When I was older, I had the desire to teach kids how to surf as well. The ocean, by the end of the day, saved my life.”
 
Jimael had the vision back in 2021. He was the one who brought all the kids together. He’s the local, born and raised in the township where we now run the foundation. He’s not just part of the community. He’s the heart of it.
